Music Director/Pianist/Copyist

Ari is an experienced music director, pianist/accompanist, music assistant/copyist, arranger, and vocal coach. As a classical, jazz, and music theater pianist for over 18 years, he has developed a skill in accompanying singers, developing arrangements, and supporting productions from the rehearsal room, the keyboard, and the podium. His work has spanned the development of new musicals at premiere Off-Broadway and regional theaters, benefit concerts for non-profits like BC/EFA, and regional and educational productions in the NYC and tri-state area. He's worked with and accompanied a range of Broadway performers, directors, writers, and music directors including Rachel Chavkin, Anais Mitchell, Leigh Silverman, George Faison, Kelli O'Hara, Kate Baldwin, and Alex Lacamoire. Some highlighted work includes The Seat of Our Pants at the Public Theater, A Wrinkle in Time at Arena Stage, Private Jones at Signature Theatre, We Live in Cairo at NYTW where he piano/accordion-conducted for the majority of the run, and many years of working on benefit concerts for BC/EFA like Broadway Backwards and Easter Bonnet. His strong attention to detail and collaborative nature allows him to effectively support the music department and solve problems that arise. He's very comfortable with music technology software like Finale, Sibelius, Dorico, Logic, and Mainstage. He is a proud member of the AFM Local 802.
